And you are reading my uncensored review of what I really thought about The Gabriel Method.

Why did I choose to review this book? Well at the start of 2009 I had lost my way when it came to weight loss. I had tried all the phony diets and none of the worked for longer than a month or so. Then I was back on the hypothetical wagon of gaining weight.

I started to look at how I could use my mind to help me lose weight through setting different goals and I started losing weight. It was not until a few months later I was given a copy of The Gabriel Method for my birthday.

My friend thought it sounded like what I was trying to accomplish. He was Right and is now on the top of my Christmas Card List. Jon Gabriel is trying to get more and more people to read his book and understand that you do not have to diet to be thin. A hard concept for many of us who read the different Magazines and watch TV. But it works(Full Stop).

Since Starting Jons program I have lost 10 Kilos or about 22 pounds and this was about 2 months ago. Now this is not outstanding amounts of weight in anyones book. But the difference is I can eat what ever I like and I still lose weight. There is a girl on my soccer team who is furious with me as I still eat nachos and she does not understand how I keep dropping pounds.

She would at least expect some saggy skin but No. None. Nada to that. Using Jon’s techniques I have started at a local Gym and I am loving it. I use a technique where I think I am being Chased by a dog on the Exercycle. I look a bit funny to others but I know what I am doing.

The Great Points

  • It works. What more can I say. I am losing weight and not depriving myself of anything. I have even started moving to healthier vibrant foods of my own choice but I know at any time if i feel like a cookie. Im gunna have me a cookie.
  • The book is in simple terms. This is not a book written by a scholar but a guy who lost about 100KG’s you can see it at the bottom of the page or on his website here.
  • It uses the mind and body. The book covers the minerals and vitamins your body needs and he explains in detail why normal diets do not last. This is where the mind comes it. If your mind does not want to be thin you will never get there. Amen to that.
  • No Counting Calories, Using Scales, or feeling bad when you eat something not on the list. This is the best point of all. As you enjoy everyday. This is a life plan not just a 4 week diet like so many others are.

The Bad Points

  • It does involve slowly bringing in supplements in to your diet.  But after a while I can tell you that you stop craving junk food. So this more than makes up for the cost of supplements.
  • You listen to a unique CD every night for about 10 or so minutes. This can be inconvenient but if you put it on an Ipod it is great. I have the big 70′s earphones even :-)

I strugle to put in to words how much this book has helped me. It is the only diet I would ever think to promote as it is the only diet that I have been able to connect with and see a future in. One day I hope to Meet Jon Gabriel and thank him personally for the help he has given me.  I am no longer scared that I will be overweight for the rest of my life.
